Book 1 of 2 in The Drusilla Thorne Mysteries (2 Book Series). I read the short Sound of Footsteps first and enjoyed it enough to move onto the first full book in the Drusilla Thorne series, which I enjoyed even more. The story is not perfect and the characters a little OTT sometimes but I'm reading for escape. If I want total realism I'll leave the fiction shelves alone. The book is fast-paced and not shy on the violence and dark back-stories but it's leavened by the overall humour and the smart talking female lead.
