I started reading the first chapter of this book months ago and stopped because I didn't like either the writing or the characters but took it up again yesterday just to see if it would get better. It did.

Mike is the son of a single mother. She used to work for the Scarpetti family and they were good to her. When Mike got older they gave him a job at the family business (Scarpetti Wines) and eventually promoted him to manager. Always trying to prove himself to the family he always wished was his, he works harder and longer hours than the Scarpetti's themselves.

Gina Scarpetti is a woman brought up under the thumb of very old fashioned and restrictive Italian parents. She isn't allowed to even go shopping without a chaperone. Between her parents and Catholic school, she's been extremely sheltered for most of her life and gets most of her knowledge about men from having watched 2 episodes of Sex and the City.

After much begging and pleading, her parents relent and allow her a trip to NY to stay with her uncle Antonio (Mike's boss). Since no one in the family wants to get stuck babysitting, the responibility falls on Mike to be her NYC tour guide/babysitter and the story takes off from there.

A LOT of hijinks ensue as Gina keeps getting them in one scrape after another and Mike fights a losing battle over his attraction to her.

I guess my real problem with this book is that Mike is a bit of a wimp. He finally gets some balls by the end of the book, but I don't like wimpy leading men. And Gina was a bit of a whiner. But except for that, the story was cute (if unoriginal) and Gina's antics and the situations she got them in were highly entertaining.

It was a fair balance between the romance and the sex, their relationship was given a chance to develop as they got to know one another, which I appreciated, as that so rarely occurs in these books.

A good read.

The plot sounded interesting, so I picked it up. Gina and Mike were subject to one antic after another. If you like that sort of thig, this is for you. If not, think twice. I thought Blaze books were supposed to be steamy. This read more like a comedy with some sensual awareness between Gina and Mike. Mike is a good guy, a little up tight. His wanting to be a part of Gina's big Italian family made sense except toward the end when he seemed to willing to go a little too far to please people who didn't consider him family. My bigger beef was with Gina. I realize she was from a different country and had a different upbringing than your average American girl. But she acted a bit like she was from another planet. The wide-eyed innocence stuff was a little over the top. Still, it was harmless and enjoyable for an afternoon.

Mike Mason loves his job but when he's left showing the city to the bosses niece Gina he wonders how long he'll have it. Not only is Gina ready for big city fun but she brought a warddrobe that her parents would never approve of.
She's a temptation he's not sure he can handle especially after being celibate for so long. Especially when she makes it clear that she wants to shake her catholic school girl image and learn everything about sex that Mike is willing to teach.
Temptation at it's best.

Highly reccommend, if you are looking for a fast, funny and light story. Love the fact that Mike is very down to earth, and the author gives us a great insight on what goes through "the minds of men". Love the Blaze Series.

It was a nice cute read. I read it in one day, and liked it. I was a story I could believe. I really liked this book because they didn't fall in love after 2 days. Come on. They worked on their relationship for weeks and didn't jump into bed after meeting each other. That rarely happens in real life.

I love most Books by Debbi Rawlins. Unfortunately, this book didn't live up to my expectations. I found it hard it difficult to relate.
