This covers the entire Christian year. I am a pastor of a Church of God and used this book to conduct services since Advent began in 2009. We have just come through holy week and this book provides plenty of ideas about how to honor Christ through celebration. I would recommend this book for pastors who want to move the Church away from secular ways of keeping holidays in the Church and bring the Church back to rightly focussing on the Church calendar as a Christ honoring way of proclaiming the gospel. 4 people found this helpful.
The seasons of the Christian year connect believers of diverse backgrounds and offer the sense of unity Jesus desired. Robert Webber believes that we can get even more out of the Christian calendar. He contends that through its rich theological meanings the Christian year can become a cycle for evangelism and spiritual formation.
