This was a story I could not put down. It just pulled me in from the start and kept my interest throughout.

very boring
Fountain_tenderness
An action packed story with plenty of twists and turns in a believable plot.
The characters are fully developed and memorable. I’m a staunch follower of John Lutz and have read practically all of his books which have left me a satisfied reader.

HOT by John Lutz is a simple rather short book, 270 pages and the sixth book in the Fred Carver series. In this one Carver is in the Keys to help a man, Henry Tiller referred to hin by his buddy Desoto. Tiller thinks there is something sinister going on in Key Montaigne and is even suspicious of the police. I like Carver, a detective with a limp and a cane and a hot girl friend. The story moves well and isn't bad for this easy to read series. Seems to a be a pattern of expectation that happens in every book...go investigate, get threatened, get pushed around, get tough and solve the crime. Three and a half stars

As usual I found Fred Carved irresistible. He is everyman, not James Bond. He screws up like all of us. Tries being suave but just misses. Lutz throws in just enough humor for entertainment.

I am really enjoying the Fred Carver series. You never can tell what he is going to get into next.
