Many experts who study the mind and intelligence agree that Leonardo Da Vinci was one of the most brilliant artist and inventors in history. In fact he is recognized today as an inventive genius by many modern day scholars. When I saw this fantastic 322 page soft book (How to think like Leonardo da Vinci: Seven steps of everyday genius by Michael J. Gelb) on Amazon for a bargain price I immediately purchased it.

As soon as I began reading this excellent book I knew I would love it. As a voracious reader interested in a wide range of topics and activities Leonardo Da Vinci has also been one of my favorite early thinkers. This book is organized into three parts and covers the following material: Part one: your brain is much better than you think, learning from Leonardo, a practical approach to genius, the renaissance, then and now, the life of Leonardo Da Vinci, and major accomplishments. Part two: The seven Da Vancian principles, which provides guidance and various suggestions how to develop an inquiring intellect. The final part explains a beginner’s guide to da Vinci drawing course, rebirth of a dream and a Leonardo Da Vinci chronology. This excellent book is filled with numerous intellectual exercises to increase your creative and unique intelligence skills.

If you are a seeker of knowledge this is a must book for your personal library. There is also a “How to think like Leonardo Da Vinci workbook” by the author which is a companion volume to this book. I liked this book so much I also ordered the companion book at this time,

In 2013 I attended one of Michael Gelb’s many workshops at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA, about “How to Think like Leonardo da Vinci”. He gave us a framework and a mindmap to install the fundamentals of any creation we want to make, whether in the workplace or in our personal life. This roadmap is based on Leonardo da Vinci’s seven principles to genius that Michael writes so eloquently about in his book with the same title.

If you want to bring more innovation, creativity, balance, diversity, and genius to any project or vision-making you will want to have Michael’s book by your side. It will help you to use your full brain-power (both left and right sides), utilize all your senses, the three intelligences of your mind, heart, and gut, not to mention opening you up to connection to the infinite intelligence.

This is a book filled with knowledge, inspiration, beauty, magic, and mastery. One to have by your side before undertaking any creative challenge. And if you have the opportunity to join Michael live at one of his workshops, I would jump at it.

After reading the fantastic book “How to think like Leonardo da Vinci” which I loved. I had to also have this hardcover edition of “How to think like Leonardo da Vinci Workbook by Michael J. Gelb. I purchased this volume for a bargain price on Amazon.

This book goes into greater detail on the various mental exercises and other intellectual projects to do if you desire to think like Da Vinci. This book also strongly urges you to carry a note book around and record everything you see. This book actually has two sections. The main part covers the seven Da Vancian Principles of Curiosita, Dimostrazione, Sensazion, Sfumato, Arte/Scienza, Corporalita and Connessione. Each topic has numerous detailed exercises. Indeed, it would take you years to complete these exercises. If you turn the book over you come to the notebook section which has a quote on the bottom of each page.

This workbook is designed to be used after reading the original volume “How to think like Leonardo da Vinci.” If you love intellectual challenges and other mental exercises you may want to check out this volume.

It takes genius to decipher the genius of others. It takes even greater genius to translate the genius of others into terms that everyone can comprehend and benefit from. In this classic book, Michael Gelb establishes himself as one of the great minds of our generation as he analyzes and distills the methods of Leonardo da Vinci into terms we all can understand and emulate. Laced with practical wisdom, this book transcends all others that I have read and provides a solid foundation for building a creative life. I want my children to read it. I want my grandchildren to read it. The principles taught in How To Think Like Leonardo da Vinci are priceless!
