I had to comment after reading the previous review. The book is fine. It has lots of visuals and lots of interesting side notes to keep each page interesting. The book covers A LOT! Sometimes it covers too much in too short of a space so the detail is lacking, but the website and free downloadable resources are great.

I think it seems like a pretty good biology book over all and I didn't notice any kind of religious implications or whatever it was the former reviewer suggested.

This book has been so much better than being suckered into buying the "custom" version my school sells. Their version is just this book cut into two parts. This is also hardcover, so it's holding up great in my backpack as opposed to the softcover version my school sells. The book has a whole lot of information, but it's pretty easy to follow and worked awesome in my biology classes.

I bought this book for a college course, and I was really pleased with how it was laid out. I found it easy to follow along with the reading, and it was quite interesting.

Well, it's used as a textbook, so I guess it HAS to be pricy for that reason only! That being said, the book is good quality and the photos and text are sharp and clear. The price costs it a star, my revenge for paying so much!

As expected.

Instead of taking picture of the book, take a picture of the card you send, it didn't clarify anything.. only maybe in fine print somewhere, next time please clarify that... Unless your teacher is signed up for the website this card it's absolutely useless because it isn't available for self study (meaning you can't use it unless your course is registered). It would be an incredible buy if it worked.

I liked the overall set up of the book, very organized and easy to understand. The figures also made it much more interesting and the fact that it was somewhat colorful didn't hut either. My absolute favorite part of the book is that it has chapter reviews at the end which helps summarize every section if that particular chapter. The only thing I really didn't care for was the fact that it has some cheesy examples... but GET it if you REALLY need it for you class.
