Interesting approach to business advice from a very skilled man. Besides having a great deal of experience and skill, Webster is a great writer, and communicates well in this very constrained format.

Very dated and light on examples and detail. I got this after reading a blog by the author. It seems it's best to just stick to the blog.

Now then, my review:

Bruce Webster appropriates the forms and principles of the Sun Tzu classic to provide usable strategies and tactics for software developers competing for scarce customer eyeballs and dollars. Here are a few examples chosen at random:

"Cause the competition to respond, and note their actions. Seek to get them to reveal their approach, so that you can understand what their intended market is. Challenge them in several areas, seeing where they are weak and where they are strong."

"Take advantage of the competition' blind spots, enter the market by ways they don't expect, penetrate areas where they are weak."

In short, Webster provides perfectly valid suggestions for modern software developers. It's a gem and a steal for less than a grande latte.
