Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged Thirteen and Three Quarters, The e-book

by Sue Townsend

For thirteen and three-quarter years I have thought I had a mother with red hair, now I find out that it is really light brown. I enclose a poem by a certain John Mole which appeared in this week’s Times Literary Supplement. Is he a relation? It is very good.

For thirteen and three-quarter years I have thought I had a mother with red hair, now I find out that it is really light brown. My mother asked me not to tell my father.

Moon’s First Quarter. The emergency doctor came to my grandma’s last night at 1. 0 . Blossom by Adrian Mole, aged nearly fourteen. The dog is pining for my mother. The dog got its own back on my father. It jumped up and knocked down his model ship, then ran into the garden with the rigging tangled in its feet. My father kept saying, ‘Three months’ work down the drain’, over and over again. The spot on my chin is getting bigger

The dog got its own back on my father. The spot on my chin is getting bigger. It’s my mother’s fault for not knowing about vitamins. Saturday January 3rd. I shall go mad through lack of sleep! My father has banned the dog from the house so it barked outside my window all night.

Sue Townsend maybe under estimated for her impact in the classroom. I'm only 15 years old, and when I read the 'Adrian mole' diaries I see myself in so many ways; especially my insecerities. I recomend this book/play to any one:of any age.

I will write about them when I have finished tidying.

She married young at the age of 18 and had three kids

The thirteen years old boy Adrian Mole decided to write a journal and when he saw a TV show from the writer Malcolm Muggeridge he decided to send his poems to him. Adrian thought of himself as an intellectual because he understood every word on the show. She married young at the age of 18 and had three kids. Her husband left her, so she was raising them by herself. After she had published The secret diary of Adrian Mole she became popular all around the world, and the book had millions of copies. Because of the excellent feedback on her novel she published sequences of it: The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole, The True confession of Adrian Mole.

Adrian Mole's first love, Pandora, has left him; a neighbor, Mr. Lucas, appears to be seducing his mother (and what does that mean for his father?); the BBC refuses to publish his poetry; and his dog swallowed the tree off the Christmas cake. "Why" indeed.

This book was one of the most enjoyable and refreshing books that I have read in a while. Adrian is such a unique character and some of his thoughts and ideas made me laugh out loud! I would love to read a follow up book so we could see how Adrian continues to grow into an adult. Great read and I would recommend it to anyone.
Madis
Very funny book about a 13-year adolescent boy and his perspective on life and the world around him.
Gashakar
Always loved the Adrian Mole growing up saga, when I saw them on Amazon and I just had to get them!
Hurus
Hilarious if you're old enough (not 13 3/4) to appreciate it. Very funny. Adolescence is a self centered time of life and this delves into that in the funniest way.
Ishnjurus
childish.
Grosho
This is hilarious! It captures the spirit of a certain kind of England better than any other work. Ageless...
