Although this book contains a lot of various dollar bill origami animals to make, I found the book lacked proper instruction. Each instruction has drawings with very few words. You have to keep cross-referencing the symbols to the meanings, flipping pages back and forth. There are symbols explained on page 9, basic folds explained on pages 118 and 119, and a lot of illustrations in between. The illustrations are in gray and white and hard to follow. On the fish on page 15, step number 12 simply states "two reverse folds" without further explanation. (Is it an "inside" or an "outside" reverse fold?) How is it done?) It would help if the illustrations were of a dollar bill and if there were more illustrations and more words to the instructions. I was disappointed with this book and will search for another dollar bill origami book by a different author.

Unlike others, dollar bill origami designs are apparently more challenging owing to small papers. In addition to beautiful or logical, It should be foldable-- after all, a dollar bill is so small. Montroll shows his readers here how versatile he is, and he is still a shining first-rate folder. How can he fold over 30 different animals in a tiny dollar bill. These vivid animals range from easy toucan, seahorse to intermediate tricertops, kangaroo to complex elephant, giraffe and camel. Some models need careful work, but the results are quite satisfying. Novice folders will have endless joy while veterans will find many surprises here. In my opinion, among all 32 models I like the turtle most. Neat,logical,3D,it is a masterpiece. Highly recommended .

This book makes me want to throw things. The instructions are idiotic. They make no sense. I hate it. So much.

The problem with many money folds is that they are pretty much impossible to do with ordinary U.S. currency, Peter Engel's "Dollar Bill Crab" is a good example. Montroll does not fall into that trap. Each of these models are quite "foldable" with a bit of practice, and many of them are quite easy to memorize. If you want something different besides traditional origami, this book is a good choice.

The diagram looks like a piece of paper not the Bill, it's hard to follow the directions that way.

This is such a fun book. I send my 7 grandchildren a greeting card and a dollar every month since they were born. I know how much kids like to get mail, so now that they are older, I decided to start sending them Origami folded dollars in their cards. This book has clear directions and good illustrations, so I found it to be easy to follow. Don't be afraid to try this paper money folding . It is so much fun, you will astound yourself!

This book is just okay.
As usual, Joh Montroll has detailed models with very good diagrams
