Paw Broon – the patriarch, a working man who occasionally tries to keep enough back for a bit of "baccy" (tobacco) and a bet on the horses. Another book was The But an' Ben Cookbook, Waverley Books, 2008. In a flashback to his youth, Paw was seen with his immediate family before he and Maw were married. His mother, Granmaw, was seen as well as his sister Daphne and brother Joseph. ISBN 978-1-902407-61-6 (the book from the family's holiday home, "the wee hoose among the heather"). In a 1980s strip the opening rhyme featured her name as Maigret (Margaret) Broon as well but this never continued.

It was the same prayer she’d recited every night for ten years, since the day Evelayn had disappeared and Lorcan had made himself High King of all Lachalonia. Though it had gone unanswered for all that time, still Ceren prayed.

This is the best Fantasy book I’ve listened to in a long time! I was thoroughly entertained by the writing, the characters and especially the narrator Simon Vance. Who laughs out loud when they’re do. .ng a barbell squat? I did, the book was LOL funny, heart warming, devastating and redemptive. Bravo to The Author Brent Weeks and narrator Simon Vance. So what’s next for you? You’ve taken me on 2 fun journeys and I’m looking forward to your next series! The first 2/3 of the book was great but what a disappointing ending to what could have been a brilliant series.

Born and raised in Scotland I loved reading the Broon's in my parents Sunday paper and was thrilled to find this amazing book which brought back so many fun memories reading this as a child especially being away from home for so many years after emigrating to the US and missing Scotland. The recipes are great and comments throughout hysterical. They did a great job putting this fun book together.

Fun book explaining all about Burns Night. Even has a couple of recipes. One for Haggis, I will be trying that out for sure! (not joking)

I purchased this book for the reputation that has been built around "The Broons". It is an easy read with many anecdotes and recipes for celebration of "Burn's Night" which honors not only the Bard, Robert Burns, but the famous Scottish Haggis. Long a favorite of Scots, this book brings to mind many of the sayings, humor, and everyday life of the homeland for those Scots who have emigrated away, but wish to keep their roots intact. Whether it is used as a 'Cook Book' or a 'Coffee Table Book' it is a 'must' for a Scot's Library!

You could print it out from the internet, but for a little more, you can have this handsome bound collection. An amusing read.

I think "Burns" would have got a kick out of this one. Good fun to have as a coffee table book and explains a little about the Burns Supper Nights held in Scotland and around the world. Being Scottish I found it very entertaining and some good recipes too.....
