CS had written of two young men raised in the same area. One the son of a white Man and a Mexican Woman and the other the son of a Comanche War Chief and a White Woman. The two young men are inseparable as they grow to adulthood. One turns to the law and the other to murder. The half breed becomes a Deputy Sheriff and the other an Outlaw. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER

A really VERY GOOD book! Had to read it all in one sitting. Didn't like the way there was so many words out of place and some even added words that didn't make a bit of sense. Had to stop and think once in a while so a sentence made some sense. But on the whole a VERY GOOD book that holds your interest! Wish there was a sequel! I highly recommend this book!!

This story was a major disappointment. I bought the book because I thought it was a story about the Great Blizzard of 1886 that killed so many cattle. It was about something entirely different. First of all, the author has a limited vocabulary and doesn't seem to be able to get across a point without using raw language and graphic examples. His characters are all like rubber ducks - no personality or depth to them. They are not believable. The story is flat and stale. It is also not believable. A reader can tell what will happen before it happens. The author has no creativity or imagination. His characters sound too much like Zane Gray's characters. He also spends way too much time writing about things that are not relevant to the story and should not be mentioned (example: bodily functions, the description of the tobacco juice that one character constantly spits, etc.)This book is typical of the modern day western "trash" that is passed off as a "new western" fiction. I have only read one of his books and I will not read another. I would not recommend book to anyone.
I enjoy reading Westerns and this was an enjoyable reading experience. I especially enjoyed reading this exceptional book.
