An hilarious read with good recipes The illustrations are amusing and original.... I would recommend it to any committed omnivores
Now that evidence is emerging that lard, and other saturated fats, are not the life shorteners they were claimed to be I think this book should be reprinted. It's fun to read. And the recipes have to be healthier than those containing a bunch of oxidized oils (grape seed, canola, soy, etc.).

It's so easy
It was not what I expected.
Excellent Country Cookbook, If you ever used Lard this is one that will bring back memories. Everything is so true. The only way to grow up. Can picture myself, carrying water to Clean the hogs when I was little. And the reciepts are excellent, Can remember mama cooking just like that.
I thought I would like this cookbook a bit more but it is a bit lacking. You most likely can find better out there for this type of cooking.
