This beautiful little book was a favorite of my daughter and is now a favorite of my grandson. Because my daughter gave away her copy in childhood, I've searched for copies of this particular translation over the years. Last Spring I found a beaten up copy that had been a library copy and purchased it. It was in lousy condition. Then I saw that there was another, much more expensive copy available. I purchased it, hoping that it would be in as good condition as the seller said it was. The seller communicated with me promptly several times to answer questions I had. He also sent the book in a timely fashion. When it arrived, I was ecstatic because the book is in pristine condition! I can't wait to give it to my grandson for Christmas.

This book is truly a treasure. It has been in my family for 30 years, and has endured as much as we have. I still can hear my father reciting it while i read a long, and still love it today. Sad to see it out of print as I would love to give a copy to my brothers for their children. our single copy is being held together with duct tape. Great story and illustrations.

I read this story to our youngest son when he was very small at least 100 times! He is now 36 and I've read the story to his children at least 20 times so far. I've kept this very special book all this time and I'm so happy I did. It is one of our very favorites. All children love this book and adults usually laugh out loud. Read it to someone you love today!!!
