I am very happy with my purchase of the book Child of Mine by Bonnie K Winn. I am completely satisfied with the service I have
received from this seller and will be ordering from them again in the near future. They provided outstanding service and their
prices were low. I had the same book already but it was in large print and I really did not need in that big of print.

The father/son story potion of this book was awesome. I thought they had a lot of chemistry. Taking Danny in as an infant, Matt was the only parent Danny had until his mother returned and announced who she was. The protectiveness Matt had was very good. I loved the zoo scene and how Matt lit into Leah for her stupid prank. Any adult should know you can't just wonder off with a child (regardless of the fact she was his mother...) without telling anyone. Throughout the book, Matt showed the love and devotion of a father, and Danny showed unconditional love.

I did NOT feel Leah had a lot of maternal instincts for her son. I cannot explain it, but I wasn't attached to her like I should have been. The entire time, I wanted Danny to stay with Matt.

The romance in this book was...not there. Until the last two pages of the next to last chapter, there was absolutely NO indication that either of them had feelings for each other! I could not believe how suddenly they were this couple in love with each other! Very unbelievable...

There was another romance going on between Annie and Ethan. I'm not sure why the author put that in unless she knew the other romance was going no where and wanted to keep it a romance...

Still, I gave this book a four before I thought the author did AWESOME with the father/son story!

Matt Whittaker was a furniture maker just living a normal life raising his son as a single father in the small town of Rosewood Texas, where everyone knows everyone. Most of the people knew his secret but his son Danny didn't know that he really wasn't Danny's father. Than out of nowhere arriving from LA asking for Kyle, a name his brother John hated and had never used, was his dead half brother's wife. Leah brought with her an unbelievable tale about her and John.

Eight years had passed since his brother John had arrived on his doorstep with his infant son, Danny. Soon after arriving John was killed in a car crash leaving young Danny fatherless. But now for eight years Matt had raised Danny as his own knowing when the time was right he must tell Danny the truth. But John had told him that Leah didn't want their son. Had she changed her mind? Despite all he could Matt couldn't keep Leah from worming her way into the boy's life and wanting to tell him the truth. How long could Matt keep Leah from telling Danny and what really was the truth? Had John told him the truth and Leah was the liar or was it the other way around? Hoping eventually to have more answers than questions, all Matt could do was trust God and that Danny wouldn't be hurt in all this.

"Child of Mine" takes place in modern day Rosewood, Texas. Being the fourth such book written by Bonnie K. Winn. It truly is a heartwarming tale as an inspirational romance. It is an easy read being great for the twenty something or romance seekers of all ages. As romance novels go the story is very predictable but still enjoyable. You can truly see the underlying faith in God in the lives of the people of this small town. So if you are seeking the inspirational romance that is not your typical boy meets girl story than this is the book to read as in the end the heart of a child is the most important thing.

Leah's baby son, Danny, is taken by her husband, Kyle, when he is 6 weeks old and they disappear. Eight years later she locates him in Rosewood, Texas, where he is being raised by his Uncle Matt. Danny believes Matt is his dad, because Kyle died in a car accident shortly after coming to Rosewood. Matt was told that Leah had abandoned Danny and Kyle. Leah must somehow convince him that she is not the bad guy and wants and loves her son.

The story has a good premise, but has to much in it that is unrealistic. In these modern times, it is too unbelivable that Leah's rich successful, (and older--they have to have been in their late 60's when Danny was born) fairly controlling parents didn't have more information on the man that was married to their only child for at least 2 years, and that they planned on employing. It didn't make sense for Leah to think of Matt as her son's dad, and not his uncle, even in her private thoughts. There is a trip to the zoo that has too many things to list wrong with it, but in which both the hero and heroine act in ways that make them appear to be TSTL. The hike that they take also shows them to be like this.

I really wanted to like this story, but ended up just tolerating it.

Amazing and really pulls on your heart strings. I love how the characters come to life with every turn of the page. They go from being just people in a story to people you can easily get to know. The small town of Rosewood Texas just comes to life inside this 249 page long book. Love the dynamics that were used in this story. The hero and heroine were unmistakable characters. I will have to look and see if there are any other books from Rosewood as I would love to come back in for a visit. Thank you for this amazing experience you have created.

I've read other books by this author and I'm pleased to say I enjoyed this one as much as the others. She took a deep subject and addressed it with heart and grace. The story jumps off the page and I stayed up all night to finish it -- which is a keeper in my estimation. I also like books by Jan Karon and I'm struck by the sensitivity and warmth that both authors convey. This is a book that I'll read again and that I'll recommend to my friends.
This book is about friends, family & church family coming together. It is also about the sacrifices we make for our children. Good book.
