This is such an excellent little book. It will help you clean up your life, learn to give your cares to Jesus, break free from bondage to food, fear and other folly, and review many passages of Scripture that are relevant to each theme. It is definitely worth the price of the book. I bought six of them to give to friends.

I even wrote a 25-page study guide for the book for my friends. (I'm an instructional designer.) If you'd like a copy, write to me and I'll send you the link.

Here's just the first three themes to whet your appetite:

- Lose the Burden of Control...Gain the Freedom of Surrender
- Lose the Do-It-Yourself Mentality...Gain the Gift of Grace
- Lose the Unrealistic Expectations...Gain Real Hope

Very practical down to earth Bible based concepts that really help you get a grip on your thought processes. Like the title says, get rid of the things that confuse, clutter and contaminate our minds, which inevitably affect our emotions and subsequently our actions...our way of living and perceiving our world...I thank God for his Word and the people he enlightens to bring forth its truth in a clear and practical manner!!

There is so much packed into this small book which gives Bible based practical advice to “experience a richer life by letting go of the things that confuse, clutter and contaminate” which is the subtitle. Arterburn details seven keys to losing you burdens: surrender, acceptance, confession, responsibility, forgiveness, transformation and preservation.

Anyone can benefit from this gem from Steve Arterburn. Highly readable, it manages to put sound counseling principles into brief (3-4 page) chapters that are not psycho babble, but also are not difficult to read or comprehend. It is also a terrificly attractive little book! How great a gift do I think it is? I bought seventy-two (72)!

At first I was disappointed in the size and taught me a lesson to see how many pages in a book before i purchase, but I was pleasantly surprised how powerful the words were, and thought it was a perfect gift to a relative who is not a "reader", hope they equally got something out of it as I did.
